STAC Report: OPRA on Wombat over Cisco InfiniBand with Datagram Acceleration Layer (DAL)

Cisco IB reduced mean latency by 80% and jitter by 75% STAC has released a study of Wombat/OPRA on Cisco InfiniBand with the Cisco Datagram Acceleration Layer (DAL). The system used Wombat's OPRA Feed Handler over 29 West Latency Busters Messaging (LBM). In the tests, Cisco Infiniband reduced mean latency by about 80% compared to UDP/Gigabit Ethernet. It also reduced the standard deviation by about 75%. This meant that delivery of data through the InfiniBand solution was not only faster but also more predictable.
