STAC-A2 Central

The STAC-A2 Benchmark suite is the industry standard for testing technology stacks used for compute-intensive analytic workloads involved in pricing and risk management.

An ongoing flow of new technologies promises to improve the speed, capacity, and accuracy of these workloads and/or reduce their cost of ownership or development. These include the latest CPUs, GPUs, and FPGAs, server architectures, programming languages and deployment environments including public and private cloud.

A decent introduction to STAC-A2 is a paper that STAC, Intel, and Catskills Research were asked to present at the Workshop on High Performance Computing in Finance at SC12 (SuperComputing 2012). STAC-A2 has evolved considerably since then, so for an up-to-date view, please read one of the reports on this site. For an idea of what's coming, see the meeting notes and discussions. STAC members are also invited to join the STAC-A2 Working Group by clicking on the "Enable me!" button on this page. This will provide the most insight into--as well as influence over--what's to come.

Firms with premium subscriptions get access to non-public STAC-A2 results, configuration details for all systems tested, and the ability to download the code from the various implementations to look for optimization tips. For details, please contact us.
