STAC Events: Vendor Best Practices

Below are observations based on our experience and believe this can help maximize business outcomes for our events. The BEST way for  a  vendor who is new to the community to get the most out of STAC Summits, is to sponsor an Innovation Roundup together with a Table in the showcase.  Call this ‘table stakes’ to get the most out of the event and engage with the community fully. We can help!  council@stacresearch.com

Before Event:

  • Refrain from using  ‘canned’ presentations, we suggest customizing to a technical audience.
  • The audience wants to hear about your solution with technical detail and relevance to them, avoid being too general and “salesy” as this approach will not resonate with this audience.
  • Five minute talks are NOT simple, you need to hone your message and get people interested enough with technically relevant content  that they will come back to your table. Think “teaser”.
    • Don't forget the call to action at the end of your 5 minute talk! Ask the audience to click "Contact Us" in the mobile app on your exhibitor page.
  • Of the two company reps you send to the events, best results seem to come from having one customer facing technical person and one sales person/leader.
  • Other considerations:
  • Download the app “Agorify” beforehand and get familiar with this amazing lead generation tool.
  • Make sure you have plenty of giveaways for whomever visits your table.
  • Demos work! Monitors, physical hardware, or any other props will all help draw attention.
  • Check your presence in the mobile app. Provide the graphics requested as it improves your engagement with the community.

Day of event:

  • Put pop-up banners live behind the table, and spend most of your time IN FRONT of your table.
    • We see the most leads generated when you stand in front, and actively talk to passers by.
  • Bring lots of giveaways for the table. If you want to do a giveaway during a break or lunch, STAC can send a notification out announcing the giveaway (ask events@STACresearch.com to do that)
  • Ask attendees if you can scan their badge and make notes in Agorify about the conversation as this helps with follow-up.
  • Study agenda for optimum networking times, coffee breaks, lunch, afternoon break, drinks.
  • During downtimes, go out and meet the other vendors.  Who knows where your next partnership might come from, so build that eco-system!

Post event:

  • Each vendor can access leads from Agorify immediately following the event. No need to wait.
  • Follow-ups from leads generated are critical and should be done within a few short days from the event. Thank them for coming and suggest next steps.
  • Remember to give feedback to the STAC sales team, constructive feedback is always welcome. Our job is to help your firm maximize exposure and business outcomes from STAC events.
  • Plan a meeting with your marketing team to give feedback and to plan the next STAC event! Remember, we have STAC Summit, AI STAC and AI STAC dev in multiple seasons and cities.
