The Fall 2018 STAC Summits closed out an enormously successful year of events. Feedback from attendees was glowing, and the growth we've seen over the last few years continued: 2018 attendance was up 19% over 2017.
STAC Summits bring together industry leaders from top financial and technology firms to discuss ways to meet important engineering challenges in finance using innovative technologies.
The Fall round of STAC Summits across New York, London, and Chicago covered many topics of importance to financial technologists, including: how leading financial firms are using the cloud, the future of Python for data science, women in technology, the strange world of cryptocurrency markets and technology, how to benchmark machine learning solutions in business-meaningful ways, and the future of financial networks, as well as competing views on how to best enable user-friendly big data analytics, how to achieve scalable nanosecond-level time synchronization, and how to exploit the potential of FPGA for analytics. In addition, several vendors presented the latest high tech to deal with AI, big data, big compute, low-latency, time sync, and monitoring challenges.
