STAC Report: kdb+ 3.1 with Scalable Informatics Time Series Analytics Appliance

New records set for 10 of the 17 STAC-M3 response-time benchmarks as well as 2 new records in bytes read per second.

16 October 2013 - New York

STAC has just released a STAC Report covering audited STAC-M3 Benchmarks of Kx Systems kdb+ 3.1 hosted on a Scalable Informatics Time Series Analytics Appliance with two 8-core Intel Xeon E5-2687W v2 (“Ivy Bridge”) CPUs and 64 direct-attached 400 GB Smart Storage Optimus SSDs.

This stack set new records for 10 of the 17 response time benchmarks including:

  • 40% faster than the next best result in high-bid search (STAC-M3.ß1.1T.YRHIBID.LAT2)
  • 30% faster than the next best daily VWAB result (STAC-M3.ß1.1T.VWAB-D.LAT2)
  • 20% faster than the next best result in volume-curves test (STAC-M3.ß1.1T.VOLCURV.LAT2).

This system also set 2 new records in bytes read per second (STAC-M3.ß1.1T.YRHIBID.BPS, STAC-M3.ß1.1T.QTRHIBID.BPS).

Qualified members of the STAC Benchmark Council can access the report here.

Qualified subscribers may also request to inspect or run the STAC-M3 Pack for kdb+ 3.1 (the q and k code for the kdb+ implementation) here.
